Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practices Group is the consulting services division of Diamond/Heritage Health Services Corporation. Diamond/Heritage, based in Houston, Texas, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Diamond Healthcare Corporation located in Richmond, Virginia.
Diamond/Heritage
Consulting Practices Group provides short and long-term behavioral
health consulting services to hospitals, medical practices, and
community mental health centers.
Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice provides well-researched, provider-specific feasibility studies regarding creation of new psychiatric and substance abuse treatment programs. These studies address the entire continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services and includes:
A definition of the potential market for the behavioral health services;
An
estimation of the type and demand for behavioral services in the
defined market;
and
An
estimation of the financial impact of establishing various
behavioral health
services.
Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice assesses the market dynamics of existing behavioral health providers. These activities include:

Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice performs feasibility studies and implementation plans regarding the deployment of interactive video-conferencing in behavioral health settings. These activities include:
Analysis of provider-specific regulatory and reimbursement

Recommendations for video-conference equipment and bandwidth;
Assessment of Provider Community's readiness to adopt telemedicine
capabilities;
and
Physician and multi-disciplinary team training regarding clinical and
technical use of
telemedicine.
Billing and Documentation Compliance Reviews and Audits:
Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice performs a review of the behavioral health program's billing system and the documentation associated with the billings. Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice can also provide assistance with the review and appeal of denials for reimbursement by third-party payors including Medicare. The compliance reviews and audits include:
Evaluation of an organization's consistency with the requirements for a
quality
management and compliance system. The evaluation includes a review
of the
reporting mechanisms that ensures Agency compliance with local, State
and Federal
regulatory requirements applicable to service provision, billing,
financial
management
and medical records;
Definition of the standards and requirements for financial management
and
documentation that are necessary to achieve JCAHO and/or CARF
accreditation; and
Definition of the requirements of the HIPAA regulations as they apply to

Diamond/Heritage offers executive coaching to organizational leaders, managers, and management teams.
Coaching is a one-on-one development process formally contracted between a professional coach and a management-level client or team, directed at increasing the client's managerial and/or leadership performance, often using action learning. Coaching activities include:
Executive assessment providing objective, third-person analysis of
individual
characteristics, strengths and challenges.
An individualized personal and professional development program based on
interview
and assessment, with ongoing professional feedback and coaching.
Diamond/Heritage Consulting Practice is headed by Robert Cuyler, Ph.D., Senior Vice President. Dr. Cuyler brings 25 years experience in Behavioral Healthcare practice, management and consulting. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Menninger Foundation. Dr. Cuyler served as President of the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare and as a member of the NIMH's National Mental Health Leadership Council.
Dr. Cuyler is a member of the Rice University Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and a judge at the annual Rice Business Plan Competition.
Diamond/Heritage will assemble a consulting team for each engagement, based on the nature of the project. The core project team will be selected from a pool of operational management, clinical services and financial consultants. All of the core project team are individuals having extensive experience and expertise in behavioral healthcare. As a behavioral health management company, Diamond/Heritage is able to staff consulting engagements with senior personnel having current operational responsibilities for more than 80 health care organizations.
